mount memory at the LEBEN & TOD Fair in Bremen

Why our first trade fair changed everything

From Regensburg to Bremen: a 7-hour drive, a "Servus" became a "Moin," and a vision became a certainty. We look back on two intense days at the LEBEN UND TOD fair and share why we returned home with goosebumps and a massive wave of momentum.

When we started mount memory, we hoped we were building something truly needed. But developing an idea in isolation is one thing – introducing it to the world is quite another.

Last week, the time had finally come for our first official trade fair appearance.

At the core of mount memory lies one thought: What remains of a person when they are gone? It is the stories, the photos, the little anecdotes, and the shared moments.

In Bremen, we realized how deep the desire is to not let these precious fragments simply gather dust on a hard drive or in a box. People are longing for a place where they can collect, preserve, and keep these memories alive together.

The stories behind the conversations

In total, we had over 100 conversations. What moved us most were the encounters with people who entrusted us with their deeply personal stories.

We spoke with fathers, wives, and friends who told us how important it is to them that the memory of their loved one does not fade. The interest in a platform that makes collecting these memories as simple and respectful as possible was overwhelming.

"In Bremen, we felt the enormous responsibility, but also the privilege, of building this digital safe for life’s most precious moments," explains Leonie, CEO. Philip, CTO, adds: "Seeing how much it means to people to gather memories together in one secure place motivates us. We want to use technology to be a genuine support during these deeply human moments and make the collection process as intuitive as possible."

A warm welcome

We were particularly thrilled by the enthusiasm of funeral orators and grief counselors. They know from their daily work: gathering stories together helps in the process of saying goodbye. Our vision to support and simplify this process digitally was met with open ears. Thanks to the incredibly warm welcome, we now feel like a true part of a community that thinks about the culture of remembrance in a modern way. Colorful instead of black and white.

What we’re taking home from Bremen

In addition to empty boxes of business cards and flyers, we are taking one thing above all: validation. We now know even more precisely which features are important to you for collecting memories securely and intuitively. This feedback is flowing directly into our product development as we speak.
